 Blue and Red Children |
|
One of the most enduring images over the last few months in 2004 was one of the most simple and child-like; a two-dimensional representation of the United States in the form of a map. A map colored in by state with a very predictable pattern of blues and reds. And while we adults tried to reconcile our alienation with one another, I could not help wonder what color a child in these states saw. Is there a spectacle of the blue and the red in their public sphere? And more specifically what is the role of media in coloring their world?...
